Dr. Carmen Mateiescu, Piano, Theory, and Composition instructor, Westminster Conservatory (since 1988); Adjunct Professor of Theory at Westminster Choir College of Rider University (since 2000); 1997-2005,Adjunct faculty, Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University.Ph.D. in composition and theory, Rutgers University; M.M., Ciprian Porumbescu Music Conservatory, Bucharest; B.M., Music Lycee. Studied with composers Gerald Chenoweth, Nicolas Roussakis and Stefan Niculescu. Author of the textbook series Theory, Solfege, Ear Training, volumes 1-4; co-author of the LP series The Traditional Folk Music Band on Romanian ethnic music (with Dr. Speranta Radulescu); published articles on ethnomusicology. Private studio in South Brunswick (1986-2000) and West Windsor (since 2000).
